Portrait Course
In this 6-day course you will paint a head-and-shoulders portrait, from beginning to end, from a high quality photograph. Whether you have many years of experience or no experience painting at all, I will teach you how to paint portraits well.
You will learn to: draw the head with an emphasis on achieving a good likeness; mix natural, true-to-life flesh tones; learn to paint with good color and value as you paint. These are the techniques I learned during my 27 years of painting portraits.
This is my most advanced course and if you follow the course, you will succeed. Nothing I teach in this course requires any “natural talent”. I will teach you the fundamentals of great portraiture. I will also be teaching you my approach to portrait photography, as well as how to create accurate-to-life, quality prints to work from.
The total cost of the course is $3,500 (USD), which includes all the art supplies you will be using. You will be the only student in my studio for the duration of the course.
